While Windows is getting a later start this year by realesing it’s new operating system on October 22, Apple’s new Snow Leopard comes out this September. With Apple’s low price for it’s operating system and drastic price cut of it’s Macbook Pro line, Windows is feeling the pressure to make Windows 7 into a product that consumer will be able to connect with. Vista was one of the most hated operating systems from the Windows line and many people downgraded to or stayed with Windows XP, losing a lot of money for Windows. Windows 7 has a lot of positive reviews so far from the beta. It also supports touch screen computers, the direction personal computers are going, which the new operating system Snow Leopard does not support. Apple is also cutting support to PowerPC processing completely in the new upgrade. This maybe to soon of a cut, since they only started introducing the Intel based processing into they’re computers 2 years ago.Windows 7, although not advised, could be used on a computer from 2001. What it may come down to is the price while a lot of people are discouraged to upgrade to a new OS because of the outragous price Snow Leopard, as discussed earlier, is only $29 to upgrade, while Window 7 is reported to be higher than it’s predecessor Vista. How much higher was not said. We will see what happens although i don’t see a big change or shift of windows users switching to mac or visa-versa.
As you might have heard, from commercials on all local channels if your in the U.S., the U.S. is national switching from analog Tv to digital Tv. The change is happening later on today at 12am. Although there have been coupons offered by the government to offer cheaper digital converter boxes, there have been reports that a lot of people have not switched to a newer TV or gotten a converter box. The coupons will still be offered until July. I encourage all of you to switch to digital TV, and for those of you who have digital TV rescan for channels after 12am June 12th.
